Fun start, so far. Kyrie came to play.

That mid range shot over 2 defenders was crazy hard. Then he got a hustle play and stole the ball from Brown and caused him a foul the next play. Indeed fun start so far.

Porzingis proving to be very effective both on offense and defense. Mavs have to really battle hard and play extremely well in the second half for a chance to come back from such a big hole.

Porzingis playing out of his mind. I don’t expect him to keep up this pace and I expect the Mavs will shoot better but this one might be over.

Am I smelling a Boston second half breakdown?
Single digit lead, still lots of basketball to play. Game is not over yet.

Doesn’t look like it. Nice run of their own. I think Celtics are too good to come back from 30 against them. Mavs need to come out sharper in game 2.

I thought Mavs were going to continue with that run. But Celtics put a stop on it and went on a run of their own. Very hard for Mavs to come back from down 20 in 1 quarter, but I'm still hoping we see something from Kyrie. He's been pretty quiet since a couple of good plays in the first quarter.

I doubt it. Kyrie had a bad game and the Mavs shots weren't falling. Numerous wide open 3s missed.
I don't think Celtics looked that good either. They were settling for too many jump shots (especially Tatum) and not driving to the basket enough. Also, there were quite a lot of good cutting opportunities for the Celtics to make a cut and get an easy basket. But of course, the guys just stand back, ball watching, and they end up settling for a jump shot.
Porzingis was very effective though. He was really good on the defensive end, disrupting lops and blocking shots. I believe he had 3 blocks in the first quarter? He was also very effective in scoring.
Celtics seems to be still them old selves, who would live by the 3 and die by the 3. They would destroy the opponent if their 3s are falling, but would not change their game plan when their 3s aren't falling.
Hoping to see the Mavs bounce back in game 2 and have a closer game, regardless if they win or lose.
