view on twitter.com

Source is preliminary. Will follow it up with better sources when more things become clear and if it is in Bitcoin (I assume so).

hmm....Now how does US administration respond. Now that a boogieman is officially using Crypto.

reply

What is cryptocurrency

reply

It's the currency found in krytas (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crypt).

Archeologists sometimes find these silver coins under old churches from the middle ages

Article on Reuters:

“This week, the first official import order registration worth 10 million dollars was successfully completed using cryptocurrency. By the end of September, the use of cryptocurrencies and smart contracts will be widely used in foreign trade with target countries,” Alireza Peymanpak said.

Here's another Tweet with a bit more info:

President of #Iran's Trade Promotion Organization says the country's first official order registration for imports using cryptocurrencies was done this week with a value of $10 million.

Also promises crypto and smart contracts will start being "widely used" by end of September.

Interesting to see the Reuters article - although there aren't many details. Preliminary rumours on Twitter are that the order is from El Salvador. Any idea where we can look for more information?

reply

I am following rumors and gossip on Twitter and Reddit. Imo there is still no better place for leakers than Twitter.

reply

I would actually agree believe it or not (although I would say Twitter & YouTube), however there is something that must be attached to that, evidence.

A twitter source can be better than a news source, if the Twitter source includes video of events occurring, pictures that can be verified are not photoshopped, or some other evidence that would be unreasonable to dispute.

reply

Yes i completely agree that Twitter threads with videos or photos are a great source. Unfortunately, my normie friends and family tend to not believe anonymous cat accounts on the internet, and they prefer Reuters or NYT or Washington Post scammers 🤣

reply

I mean, its okay not to believe anon cat accounts, but to disregard video evidence....

Hmm let's see how it goes. The iranians are playing the long game.

reply

Long game for sure. They did start to mine in 2019. That's also why Bitcoin is the suspected "Cryptocurrency".

reply

Politically they are smart. They don't answer to provocations and handling the JCPOA deal mess pretty well.

USA don't want the deal to pass of course, because it will allow Iran to trade with anyone.

reply

Probably Bitcoin

reply

In retrospect, it was inevitable.

In retrospect, it was inevitable.

No mention of to whom or for what, but one interesting bit is crystal clear here:

The GOVERNMENT of Iran is banning bitcoin for the masses while USING it for themselves. They're basically backwards from most countries where the people are using it and the govt thinks its silly.

I love how they've approved 1000 miners (where these coins came from) but had to shut down 6000 unapproved miners. This shows that the people there want it, but are simply not able to use it without govt cracking down on them.
