I have different point of view and wanted to share it with your for discussion.
For me, having no expectations in life means having no goals, and having no goals means having no reasons to live.
What is a goal? Something that you expect to reach one day and you give all your effort to reach it. Yes, you can fail during the process and never reach that goal, but life goes on and you set another goal, then another, and so on.
Living a life without expectations looks like a passive boring life. A live without expectations is meaningless. A person cannot live without expecting any thing in his life. It's impossible. Yes, the expectations should be reasonable, not expecting more than you can achieve, and here you need experience and wisdom to understand your limits.
A man without expectations look like a AI, like a robot. A machine does not expect anything, but works according to the prompts you give to it. If one says me to live without expectations, in reality he is saying me to not have desires, to not have hopes... I other words, to become a machine, a robot, an AI... No thanks!
Furthermore, having no expectations is almost impossible.
What about Bitcoin? Should a Bitcoin lover have no expectations about the future of Bitcoin?

Totally agree with this. Life would be boring without goals.

i have found so much peace in this mindset, and even in my present day i have no expectations. there are goals of course,
The post by @speakingyourtruth has mentioned that he assumes that there's a line between expectations and goals for him.
While it's clearly visible that you've mingled both expectations and goals; which I think is not correct.
Goals are targets we're striving to hit. They have outcomes and metrics. They are not a measurement of an individual's value or worth.
On the other hand expectations are strong beliefs that must occur, like being on time, telling the truth and treating people with respect.
Nonetheless, I can see that both of the posts present variable outcomes. So, for me, I like that one and liked this one as well.
