Went to Sats4Likes for the first time in a while and saw this:
Can't say I'm shocked, as I hadn't seen anything worth my time there in ages, but worth removing from your bookmarks in case you'd hoped it would start having decent offers again.
It was a cool project while it lasted.

How did it work?
reply
You'd like/comment/otherwise interact with posts/channels on Twitter, Telegram, and maybe some other places (you could also open Lightning channels, I think) for bounties. So you could like a twitter post for 20 sats, or comment on one with a specific word for 50, etc. But eventually, the tasks dropped to like 5 sats for comments and retweets, and half were to dead Tweets anyway. I only really found it late last year, so I missed it in its heyday.

If you haven’t heard of Apollo, you can write reviews on BTC-related products n services. 100 sats per review. Doesn’t require much effort.
Hang in there
reply
I like Apollo and keep forgetting to write reviews there. Need to go back and write more -- thanks for the reminder!

That's okay. At least they've called it a day instead of mysteriously vanishing out of the sphere.
reply
True. Props to the guy running it for recognizing it and sunsetting it. That's rare these days.
reply
Never heard of it. What did you have to like to get sats? Twitter posts?
reply
Yup, plus there were some Telegram tasks and a few other things.
reply
Too bad. I am not above liking crap to get sats.
reply
Same. And since I cared less and less about Twitter, I minded less and less giving likes and RTs to random stuff.
reply
Good to know. Haven't used in a while but I remember it was nice.

From @pseudozach's twitter:
Bittersweet day. Shutting down something you've put countless nights working on is not easy but that's how we learn, grow and make room for what's next. Sooo next chapter, let's go.
Was the project just not seeing the usage they wanted?
reply
That'd be my guess. I'm sure the Musking of Twitter hasn't helped (especially for any tasks that might've required an API to verify), but it may just be an idea with a limited lifespan.

I forgot that twitter's api was paid now. That's sad.
I always saw it as a general purpose bounty system, but maybe twitter was the main use case.
reply
By the time I started using it, it was about 70% Twitter/20% Telegram, with occasional other things, but I don't know how it went historically.
reply
It was good while it lasted. It's a shame that the service will be discontinued. :(
reply
Nice, what is the reason behind this? Is it not getting as much support anymore - or too much maintenance to run?
reply
It's good. It has already become useless and worthless.
reply
Another project that pass away. Proud being an early adopter of it.
reply
Did you find out why it is closed?
reply
I've read somewhere that likes on X are now anonymous? If true, could this be the reason for the shutdown?
