We are supper excited to announce our FREE lightning payment routing node for Africa!
Inspired by Zero Fee Routing and sponsored by Voltage, we route lightning payments with zero fees. We do this because we want to help increase the adoption of Bitcoin in Africa in every possible way, hopefully, this helps.
Our node Alias is AfricaFreeRouting
You can view our node starts on Amboss here: bit.ly/AFRouting Open a channel with us: 020b00aaae4c1904ca0a773aaea9064717eb12a2096abec2370335ec19e368eeb9@f6xpd6m6bzrvgynmttabntsndfr4gqvkxxbjyxp7wjin2jffqkrograd.onion:9735
Bitcoin must win in Africa!
Can you explain how this helps?
It looks like you just named a channel something nice then asked for inbound liq.
reply
Only about 0.12% of nodes in the network are hosted in Africa.
That's pretty low considering there's a high Bitcoin adoption rate in Africa.
Hosting more lightning nodes in Africa will help route lightning payments within the continent even faster.
reply
Not over Tor it doesn't.
reply
Doesn't matter where you are, you're hidden behind Tor. The signal does a couple of jumps around the globe anyway before it reaches you.
reply
Yes.. we're working on hosting it in Africa to gain visibility.

The Amboss link and the provided address are two different nodes:

I bless the Lightning down in Africa

It takes some effort to keep channels balanced. I doubt zero fee will do any good to your channels as liquidity would be all stuck on one side.

awesome, good luck routing!

Why free though? I thought having a small, but adequate fee makes LN spam resistant.
reply
Having a zero fee doesn't spam the network.
Like I said, we got our inspiration from Zero fee routing.
reply
When I get some more dry powder I'll open a channel. I keep my channels mostly all 0/0 fees as well.
reply
Awesome! We'll be excited.

Need liquidity?
reply
Yes.. Inbound Liquidity precisely
