I'd rather use Mullvad or, if you want a cheaper alternative, Windscribe is one that withstood data handover requests again and again.

There is a different PP between email and VPN and that's causing some confusion.
They officially don't log any IPs for VPN, but they might activate IP logging for email for security purposes, which seems reasonable to me. It's still private unless you provide an identifiable recovery email or credit card.
