I had an interesting issue the other night working on a high pressure boiler. Another company was servicing it, and changing the mechanical linkages to electronic sensors. So they had to mount some things around the boiler. They just used self tapping screws and screwed into the end of the boiler. I went to the place to look at their boilers, and it is leaking out very hot air. Now the boiler has to be shut down and inspected, and probably welded on by a licensed welder. I cant believe someone would just do that, without thinking of the ramifications. What do you think would happen if we kept the boiler running?
it will probably continue leaking out very hot air. Not sure what the consequences could be in the long term

It will leak out hot air and that makes the pressure vessel have a weak point.
