What is your thinking around spirit possession?
This has been common knowledge through all cultures & times, and most have protocols that can deal with it.
In modern internet lore it seems to be negative only, but at least in the Tibetan tradition it has been highly organized, controlled and used for constructive purposes only.
Its not my intention to limit this to the Tibetans only, any takes are welcome, its just that this is perhaps the easiest example where there is actually something to show:
I also have something else to mention around this that perhaps belongs in the comments :-)
Actually I did have some coloured grains of wheat that the Nechung had blessed, came from a friend who was a well reputed monk, so it was probably genuine :-)
The other thing is that I have a medical degree in an old type of acupuncture that includes two very old treatment protocols for possession. They are patterns of inserted needles, one for superficial possession at the front, another one at the back for deeper types.
During the last year at school we had someone with multiple voices chatting in her head report most of them leaving after this treatment, so clearly something happened...

It's a certainty. When you consider things like the concepts of reincarnation and, more recently, generational trauma, more people believe in spirit possession than they think.
