I didn’t even know they had crime map overlays. We definitely don’t have that on the realtor site in Canada and I usually use Zillow when looking at real estate in the US.

I don’t think it matters because you have to visit the prospective house regardless
So you get a feel for the neighborhood etc

Yeah I recall looking at houses when we were visiting my wife’s family in Texas a couple years ago. Most we looked at were great but my wife found this one that was “really cheap”. We get there and it’s next to some train tracks and a junkyard and there were houses in the area with bars on the windows. We didn’t even go see the house.

I like Fort Worth. It’s cheaper and not as busy as Dallas. Even though it is a city, didn’t really run into any traffic issues there. North of Fort Worth is nice, everything is new. That’s where my wife’s family lives.
We were there for 3 months. We planned on going back every winter for a couple months and rent out place out for ski season but didn’t really work out. My wife and son went this past February for a week and a half but I stayed home with my daughter.
