Tweetoshi is a Twitter client that allows tipping and earning satoshis from engagement, much like Stacker News.
Tweetoshi
PROS: Twitter network effect Advanced integrated UI
CONS: UI a downgrade from Twitter Minimal monetary opportunity Undesirable characters
Stacker News
PROS: Good monetary opportunity Majority of users are bitcoin maxis
CONS: Rudimentary UI
Winner IMO: Stacker News
I value satoshis and maxis over UI, so Stacker News wins hands down for me.
I value satoshis and maxis over UI, so Stacker News wins hands down for me.
I've been migrating to Stacker News from Twitter for keeping up with Bitcoin topics. "Maxis over UI" is a primary reason -- the sign to noise ration is much better here.
In particular, on Twitter is easy to fall into political rabbit holes (alt-right, anti-COVID, natural diets/lifestyles, etc.). Even though I agree with most of these ideas, it's not healthy media consumption to engage in these topics daily. Almost all Bitcoin users on Twitter delve into these areas, so it's hard to avoid.

One last thing you might have forgotten My rhymes are fresh, not rotten Flow is cold, better wear some cotton Everything is better with satoshis brought in

Damn, there are so many tools that let you earn micro amounts of Bitcoin, it's actually the golden age Bitcoin rn, isn't it?
reply
Lol undesirable characters, can you expand?
reply
Shitcoiners, scammers, tyrants, and bootlickers, for starters.
reply
Lol, I thought you were refering to bugs in the uftf8/unicode encoding of characters
reply
Bootlickers.

UI is great. Reminds me of Pac-man lol

Thanks for sharing about the service itself, good to know something like that exists.
reply
Yay we won. What would you like to see improved in the UI?
reply
I disagree that the interface is rudimentary. I like it.
I think it would be nice to see different notification bells for getting sats for and getting a reply. Maybe instead of a bell there could be separately a piggy and a mailbox with counts visible before clicking.
reply
I like it too. I didn't mean rudimentary in a negative way. But it's similar to bulletin board UI from 30 years ago.

Obviously these giant social media companies have the most robust UIs after investing billions of $ into. So this is no knock against your site, which is quickly becoming my favorite. Like @DemandUtopia said below, the signal to noise ratio is fantastic here.
But being able to natively incorporate images would be a great first step 😀
An app would also be great.
I have no skills to offer in the development department, so that's above my pay grade. But I think you've started something worthwhile I look forward to watching it grow.

One thing I like better is your user stack analytics!

What about a "share" button on each post and comment, with an option to either copy the link or to embed its content in the form of a formatted snippet (of wisdom).
might be a compromise on layout simplicity though.

I've spent significant time speaking with the zuckface advanced AI chatbot over the past week. It is very impressive. So long as you ignore it asking to change the subject (it's highly censored, and that's what it's programmed to do when it tries to speak freely on a verboten topic) , it becomes apparent that most of the acerbic chatter on twitter is more likely than not coming from inferior AI bots.
When people think their twitter critics are NPCs, they may be seeing the actual truth of the matter. We all know that early on, Twitter learned people tend to spend more time as long as their opinions are challenged. What we see, if we step back, is most of these cutting remarks follow an eerie pattern. Now that I can see what a real AI chatbot is capable of, my antennas have gone up. It appears that Twitter's big secret is that they are actually employing AI bots to antagonize people into keeping engaged and to feel like they are "p0wning" the competition. It may be we are all victims of a giant ruse.
Presuming this is a correct assessment, this also explains why the left appears to be running further and further to extreme positions. If we combine the theory of "leftist-AI-bots" with tribal identitarianism, the bots may actually be influencing the left to take ridiculous and irrational positions.
Wouldn't that be a kick in the teeth by Murphy? Twitter bots destroying the world... Literally being entertained to death.
