I remember one of the scenes, they made the actors stay on the ice for a long time to get the exhausted scene.

I remember one of my teachers told me that.
They made them skate for hours to get them hot and exhausted.
Something about not being able to fake being hot, sweaty, exhausted, and the steam coming from their mouth.
