I know these are all great players, and despite being a Cubs/National Leaguer, it always seems like the AL has dominant lineups and players.
Also, real interesting to see Profar have the season he is after years of being an underperforming top prospect. Nice to see.
Profar is having a heck of year. Cubs are having a disappointing year. I thought they would compete with the Brewers for the NL Central this year.

Dansby and Morel are batting a dismal .200, Bellinger is meh this year. Those three were/are critical for production.
I haven't had much faith since 2016 and the unceremonious dismantling of the team.
I used to love drafting Profar in fantasy baseball because he could be plugged into basically all positions, but was always disappointed in output. Now he's producing.

Swanson is one of those guys that got the big contract and was never the same.
I think everyone has been waiting on Profar to break out this way. With his bat to ball skills he should have been a perennial .300ish hitter. I hope he keeps it up. The Padres are such a fascinating team. I hope they make the playoffs this year.

I hope he can keep it up as well, but a 31 year old breakout, I can sadly see him getting a decent contract after this year as he's a UFA, and the doing a Dansby. It's amazing how often things like that happen.

Who do you think will be the Cubs selection for the ASG? Probably Imanaga or Assad?
reply
I feel like it's gotta be Shota. Assad is on IL currently. But is anyone really deserving of it wasn't for the purpose of meeting a quota haha
reply
Imanaga has struggled a bit lately but he was incredible at the beginning of the year so I think he will be the one. I don't like this quota thing either.

I've always liked the tradition of the "mid summer classic", but people put way too much weight on "all stars" given it's a half point award.
