Wimbledon
I used to be a big follower of tennis. I would attend the Canadian open (now called the National Bank open) in Toronto every year and usually get out and hit the ball a couple times a week.
I haven't followed the sport much in the last decade but I still enjoy the major tournaments and especially Wimbledon.
Anything can happen but it looks like we are on track for a Sinner vs Djokovic Final. Sinner will have to get through Alcaraz in the semis if everything plays out as expected, which is no small feat, but Alcaraz has only been able to beat him on hardcourts thus far in their head to head matchups.
On the ladies side, I admittedly stopped paying attention once Canadian Bianca Andreescu was eliminated.
Are any other stackers following the tournament or tennis in general?

I am a former tennis coach and former member of the scottsdale tennis league. I tried to go to Indian Wells, but they shut it down because of covid.
I'm a pretty big pickleballer now, even though I play tennis once in a while.

That’s awesome. We have a pickleball court down the street from us. My wife bought the pickleball set for the kids to try it out but I haven’t taken them yet. Probably one day this week.

I used to be a big pete sampras and andre agassi fan. I always liked when they played each other.
reply
I got to see Pete play a couple of exhibition matches live in Toronto. That was fun.
reply
I stopped watching after they retired. I know there are still a bunch of good players with different style. But it got kind of stale.

I like watching it. Following Nadal over the last few years and now Alcaraz. If he manages to go through to semifinal, the match against Sinner is going to be tough.
reply
Should be a great matchup. Nadal was always incredible to watch. I loved how his shots were so deep. He always seemed to be landing his shots right on the baseline.
reply
He is a great guy in and out the court. So humble , respectful to others players. He is planning to play along with Alcaraz at the Olympics. One of the latest opportunities to watch him live at a tennis court.
reply
The first time I saw Sinner play I said Italy? That guy looks German not Italian

reply
I need to follow more closely. I really only pay attention to the major events now.

Alcaraz goes through to semi-finals. He will play against Medveded who defeated Sinner.

Medvedev is streaky

Alcaraz performed really well today. We will see on Friday.

I like tennis. But I like to play, not watch

Alcaraz is the defending champion
Sinner is the top seed.
reply
Yes, he is great. I just think Sinner has his number on grass and clay. We will see. Definitely will be a tough match. Shelton giving Sinner quite the game right now.
