I love listening to podcasts I mean any informative person does right? When I found out, I could earn sats while listening to my favorite podcasts. I quickly downloaded the fountain app, I mean who wouldn’t. However, to my surprise I have not even earn One sat ever since I began using it. I reached out to the support team and all they said was I need to continue using it to start earning. Reason being there are certain “security issues/thingies” I need to pass. If you ask me that sound like bull😒. Now to my question, are any of you experiencing the same challenge? If you have experienced this challenge and you are currently earning kindly drop some advice. Thank you 🙏

My gf experienced the same issue. After getting in touch with the support and updating the app, it started working for her.

Getting paid to listen to a podcast fundamentally doesn't work as a business model. I really like being able to tip/comment in Sats though!

It does if it's the podcast producer funding the sats for listeners, in particular if they include ads. It's also useful if you want to promote your podcast, kind of like offering lunch to people who are willing to attend your sales pitch. You don't get any better data about number of ears when you're literally paying for them with micropayments.

I just saw an ad by swan on fountain where they paid 100 sats for listening to their 15 second advert. This is very cool! If somehow the segments of a podcast could be paid at different rates that would be amazing, then people wouldn't want to skip past them

That's actually pretty cool! Would be really nice to see how lightning could enable an ad split between the listener and the host. The biggest concern with transactions this small is that the mental bandwidth to do them outweighs the transaction itself. Nick Szabo wrote an interesting paper on why microtransactions lost to advertising the first time around. A super fluid ux seems to be the key in these things.

What podcasts? Are these from the Discover page?
From what this says, .. it is the podcaster who is paying to stream sats to the listeners.
So if your podcaster isn't "promoting" either the show or the episode, I don't think you earn anything by listening. I could be wrong, as I haven't looked into it further.

Yup, same here. If it doesn't work for you from the start, it will never work. If it worked and suddenly stopped working, it will never work again. The support team stops answering you after 2 or 3 emails, also.

Mine works early days I was getting a 1000 or so sats a day now I seem to get cut off around 500 max sometimes only 200 bit all over the place
