200 days.
An incredible feat for me. The longest streak I attained before this current streak was a mere 8 days.
Regardless of whether you agree that time is a flowing entity,, it seems surreal that 100 days have passed since I wrote about 100 consecutive days of wearing my cowboy hat.
It is a commemoration of my commitment to myself. Even though I identify as a Rebel, according to the Four Tendencies framework by Gretchen Rubin,, I stick to something doggedly if I have my mind set on it.
To be honest, I am not 100% sure about the criteria to keep the cowboy hat. I know it’s 100 sats per 24 hours, and suspect that if I post something in a territory whose posting fee is more than 100 sats, I would have cleared the bar for that day.
However, somehow, I think that the 100 sats only count when I zap several Stackers. This means that even though I may be in a digital detox mood, I get on SN and do the needful. So, I realised that my passion may wane at times but I am still able to do something relatively long-lasting when it comes down to it.
As I shed off my less flaky side, I hope to apply this steadfastness to other aspects of my life. Financial wellness, physical decluttering, content creation, whatever. Set the bar low enough, apply some willpower when I least feel like sticking to it, and marvel at the outcome I have attained at various milestones. Aesop’s fable says it best, ”Slow and steady wins the race.”
