I think they are looking at the protests that have already occurred calling for a ceasefire and they are preparing for the worst case. While they already do that I think they are even more so focusing on it now given what happened and how bad it looked on the Secret Service

Are you talking about the video where they didnt do anything even though people told them that there was a shooter on the roof?
reply
The roof deal is wild to me because the Secret Service are trying to blame the local cops and say that was "there area" which to me is absurd because its a freaking roof with a perfect line of sight. All of those high points should have been locked down and at the end of the day the protection falls to the Secret Service for a President/Presidental Nominee.
reply
I thought it was wild that it took so much time to respond.
reply
I mean shooting an AR getting off 5 shots isn't crazy the counter sniper team performed as they should have neutralizing the threat asap
reply
I thought security would be tighter. Threats eliminated immediately, instead of shots being fired.

That is the million-dollar question for sure... next week it looks like we will be having some sort of hearing in the House over this failure
reply
Maybe they will have zoom senate meetings lol Everyone shivering at home being scared.
reply
I cant vouch for the Senate because I do not work there but the House Oversight Committee will have a hearing on Monday, July 22, over the Secret Service and their response/protocol. The Director of the Secret Service Kimberly Cheatle will be in attendance.
No, that is an entirely different event. I am talking about the cease-fire protests that have already rocked DC this year. There were some sketchy incidents that could have definitely turned sideways real quick and I think it is safe to assume they are now imagining those turning south.
reply
I havent been paying attention to what is happening in DC.
reply
Honestly you get used to the protests and threat notifications and kinda figure out how else to move on. It is only when certain big events come up or happen that makes you look at it again and go umm wtf
reply
Last time l went to DC, 4 years ago they had fencing up so we couldbt see the white house well.
reply
Yeah that is the "unscaleable" fencing that I expect them to place around the Capitol again
reply
It works to deter people from being too close. Only the determined would really scale it when police are on the inside guarding it.
