Pillbox is a desktop application for that simplifies the management of L402 paywalled services.
The L402 is a protocol that allows servers to request proof of payment before processing an HTTP request, making it an excellent fit for data or API monetization.
At Fewsats, we used L402 to build a Dropbox-like application where users can download shared files after paying for them. However, managing credentials for L402 endpoints can be challenging, with no clear way to store or use them for future access.
Pillbox solves this problem by providing a user-friendly interface for acquiring and managing credentials for paywalled endpoints. With Pillbox, users can easily add and manage credentials by pasting L402 paywalled URLs, streamline the payment process by fetching macaroons and invoices, and securely store credentials for future use.
Pillbox is an open-source project, and contributions are more than welcome. If you have any questions about the code, don't hesitate to open issues or pull requests in the repo. We also welcome ideas for the logo from designers out there!
