So we're both taking some time off of work which means we need to spend our bitcoin savings to cover life expenses. We've just ran out of our last fiat savings and what's left is bitcoin. I see a sudden shift in my wife's spending habits. She doesn't want to spend any of it. She even suggested for us to start working again even though we both agree time is the most precious thing to us.
Hard money tells. I think she understands.
Overheard my wife trying to orange pill her mom yesterday.
Bullish on these hard money incentives.
reply
I think the sovereign among us under value the effects of sound money and its affects.
Just as the NGU undervalue sovereignty. Its both. They are connected.
reply
you definitely don't want to spend for unnecessary things when the saving is in Bitcoin, the mental shift is real!
reply
Totally. It's all connected - less spending, less consumerism, less low quality products. Fascinating what hard money can change.

yes, and I went extra further now: learning how to make the best possible đź‘€ from sourcing out the ingredients to digging for the best people I can possibly find:)

You're extremely lucky to love this woman. God bless you

What's digital cash then

Wow Congratulations on having a wife of this kind.

It sure is interesting to see hard money psyop people, I got my mum some Bitcoin a while back and during the 2021 bull run she sold some to buy a new TV, she loves the tv don't get me wrong, but she will always tell me how she regrets doing it and she should have kept that Bitcoin
When I woke up this morning I was thinking if maybe I need to pump up my fiat buffer, for another months worth just incase the worst
reply
Your wife is doing absolutely great! And here I'm, 'Im still trying to Orange Pill my wife's...haha!
reply
That's awesome..i have not worked in a couple years now and I sometimes sell Bitcoin to pay for things. I have learned to find peace with it. As much as I want to stack, I am just grateful to know about Bitcoin and to have a plan. Abundance mindset > wealth.
reply
I support this.
Not totally unrelated story, in the street I grew up in, there was an old lady living alone in a decrepit house who was known to be seen begging in the streets at times. When she died, they found the equivalent of hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash in her house, where nobody would have expedted as much as a solid plate.
Some bitcoiners strike me this way, the "if you have a frame for your mattress, you're short bitcoin!" types. While you're starting out stacking, fine. but later.. what the hell is wrong with these people? What good is it to hold on to everything and die with a stack worth a million in fiat while living off of crumbs? I would agree that's it a bad idea to spend ALL your bitcoin, but there's a line you should be comfortable to draw down to.
You can view it as thanking yourself for making some really good decisions a few yeras back, and also a way to fight the anxiety that "you might need it ALL tomorrow!"
reply
Totally. We want to live better lives. Not be obsessed with saving for later. Bitcoin has helped me live more simply but there is a balance. One that isn't greedy but abundant. And isn't impoverished but sustainable.
reply
agree, for me it's like if I need two chairs then two chairs only, but I want to figure out where I can find the best crafted and long-lasting chairs so that I do not need to waste my time and sats again in the future. đź‘€
reply
Yes. Once we get on a Bitcoin standard, we will learn to treasure quality of quick, and easy. And we will make and trade directly. I'm excited for this future. This is what we are working on building here at moto mountain.
reply
I'm excited to see a future where people compete to make the best of everything instead of chasing attention to sell more / cheating on the materials.

đź’Ż We have never had a true free market before. When the money is nonsense, there is no clear signal of value.
reply
It's all about long term time preference.

Don't spend Bitcoin for unnecessary things.
reply
i spent all my crypto and all my fiat. now i'm down to iras and 401ks.
reply
get rid of "retirement accounts." eat the tax bill, if u don't yet know how to unsubscribe from taxable accounts. it's all fake monopoly promises. put all into bitcoin under ur control. u'll see, this is the way. the feeling is great!
reply
You must be having a great time spending them in a year or so! Just do what your wife says.
reply
Smart move by wifey dearest! Bitcoin is one day going to replace fiat, that’s for sure. But meanwhile, it’s still precious. Don’t spend unwisely and keep stacking. Maybe need to source for some passive income to keep afloat and save Bitcoin 💪🏽
reply
Don't spend. It's really precious.
reply
If/when I do need to spend fiat, I first plan on the purchase by looking for Sats Back deals from Lolli.
When it comes time to provide a payment method, I always try to use my FoldApp debit card to earn sats back with every purchase.
reply
You should have changed your spending habits before you used all your fiat. lol At least you are both on the right track, and she seems to be supporting you.
reply
Have you considered borrowing against your BTC instead of selling?
reply
I sure did. I'm not convinced, though. With no income, I'd have to repay the loan with another loan. And I think bitcoin is still too volatile for that.
