What prevents you from installing an AC on an old brick building? It's just a matter of drilling a small hole though the bricks for the copper pipes.

The houses last forever though. And are built so they dont need air conditioning. They have windows placed well so that air can flow.

Even infinite airflow won't do the trick if the air is hot outside. But I guess that doesn't happen in the German climate.
