You have to understand that these banks speculated with the money overseas, so they were not able to lend it. They even supported hitler against communist russia. They had stackes on both sides so they will win for sure. This is the main reason america jumed in so late into ww2. Sad to inform you that it was not america who defeated nazi germany.
