It drives them crazy. Because they deep down know they're wrong. It's always the case with most ideology that are based on contrarianism. They don't actually want everyone to be less wealthy - they just say it to be provocative. 💀

The degrowth movement is from wealthy white people primarily in wealthy nations. There are MANY problems affecting the developing nations of the world that are pretty much ignored these days due to the obsession with global temperature rise.
