yes correct, was issued the 24th April 1933, just before the Executive Order 6102 of the 1st May of the same year. Was gold considered private property before that.

Apparently not only in jewelry. it did permit “customary use in industry, profession, or art” as an exception. Now I understand why people used gold in their mouth.
