In 2019, just two battery factories were operating in the United States with another two under construction. Today there are about 34 battery factories either planned, under construction or operational in the country.
TechCrunch doing a really great job reporting on the construction of the EV battery plants. USA has big lofty goals for EVs by 2030. Hopefully this isn’t mal investment that sets American manufacturing and infrastructure back a few decades because demand can’t meet all of this supply coming online.
California will be ev by 2030? Just imagine how much power is needed for all that charging!

Nuclear!

Didn’t they shut their last nuclear plant down a couple years ago?

Im not surre, but I dont think their infrastructure can take it. Everything electric means a lot of demand.

There’s one left. CA can’t even handle current demand. They tell the public to limit charging on hot days. 2030 will never happen. 2050 isn’t evening on track to happen at this rate.
reply
Yeah it’s a pipe dream
reply
Its solvable, the infrastructure needs to change quite a bit.

reply
Right, another toxic topic!
