There was some noise last year that Germany wanted to cut away from Ukraine war. Was that true and was it because Germany faced major energy crisis in winter?
Within the population I would guess 30% do not support the engagement. But the gov coalition and the CDU back this by 100%

I feel bad for German people. This 70% number is astonishing. Much because it says that Germans are not peace lovers.

IMO it means they are intellectually lazy victims of propaganda by the warmongers

Very true but sad!

I was in Germany recently.
I was shocked at the type of people who seemed to be pro war with Ukraine. Even the hippie/peacenik types were not pro-peace, and seemed to be just as susceptible to pro-war propaganda.
For instance - those who, back when you had to serve in the military or do civil service volunteering, many people did the civil service work, even though it took longer to get through. Even THESE people, seem sometimes to be pro-war nowadays. Or at least, to not be skeptical of pro-war arguments.

Germany's economy can have some benefits from war, e.g. Rheinmetall (they would like to do more, but politicians are blocking it).
reply
Since when does an economy, a society, profit from war games in the long term?
reply
Never
Military industrial complex benefits from money laundering

When war is not happening on your soil and especially when your boys aren't dying. USA overcome Great Depression that way, with WWII, and become dominant superpower of the World.
