Yeah!!  And first they are selected from the national level competition. It depends on how many medals they bring home. It's not true that sending more participants gonna bring more medals.

Extra context: countries themselves set the limits on who can or cannot join. Some put it high, to only have the best competing, some put it low, to have more people joining.

People have cricket craze than other sports maybe this is the one fact. 

The most surprising for me is definitely India! The largest with the population but very low participation tells us how lacking is the environment for sports in India.

Maybe due to corrupt officers in sports department?? 

I hope the number of athelete grow from India and reach close to U.S.
