MLB History in the making?
MLB has been around a long time so "firsts" are pretty rare these days, but this is pretty cool.
Due to a game suspended by rain earlier in the season, which the Blue Jays and Red Sox will resume on August 26th, former Blue Jays catcher and current Red Sox catcher Danny Jansen has the chance to become the first player in MLB history to play for both teams in the same game.
Sats for all, GR
That's awesome, let's hope he stays healthy the next couple weeks and the Red Sox make a point to at least get him in the game. Be a real shame if he was benched/given a rest day.
reply
Yeah what’s interesting is the game they are resuming is part of a double header so he will likely catch one and not play the other. Hopefully he plays in the resumed game.

I was reading that he was technically at bat when the game was called originally haha.

Love seeing off the wall stats like this.

Omg this is fantastic! I love seeing stuff like this! A new record I could see getting set sooner rather than later would be 8 stolen bases in a game. With guys able to steal so much easier now it seems like it is only a matter of time.
Same with a second 50/50 season and even a 60/60 season
reply
Definitely think we will see a 50/50 but I don't know about 60/60. That would really be something.
reply
I know he doesnt steal but I think he could if he wanted to and that would be Soto being a 60/60 or even Ohtani Right now he's at 32/27. Its kinda nuts to me how quickly the 40/40 standing has now fallen.
De La Cruz if he ever developed a little more power could also be a threat for 50/50 same with Bobby Witt Jr.
reply
Agree, all those guys could be 50/50 threats. 60/60 would be unreal. I doubt we see it but I hope we do. That would be fun to follow.

I wonder if Acuna was used as a DH that would help. He reminds me of Yordan with his knee injuries... Yordan spent ~ 2 years with issues before we went ya know the field isn't your best friend and we are only going to use you in certain situations (like MMP small as hell left field) to protect you

For some reason I thought Shaq had also done this, but he just got traded away from the Heat and wasn't on the roster anymore for replaying the end of a protested game.
reply
That's awesome. Even better it was due to a protest game.

I've recently watched 'Leatherheads'. The movie depicted how American games went through a period from unorganised to organised. In starting there were no so many rules regarding these player trades. Now, these trades have a huge impact on the final results and the finances of a Team.

Thisisawesome!!

How is that possible? Did a trade happen?
reply
Yes he got traded to the Red Sox last week.
reply
I see. They should have been more careful with the trading days.
