I would bet my last dollar that he is going to Korea first but if/when they release him he will be sent to the U.S. He broke separate laws in the US so it won't be double jeopardy and honestly South Korea isn't going to want to protect him.
I guess they'll make some kind of deal though. He's not gonna go much prison time.
In Korea, he'll be lynched if he hits the street...

Oh yeah I bet. In the US he is likely to be stuck in the same detention center that El Chappo and SBF were placed in and that was more for their protection than punishment. I don't really know how the Korean court system works but given you said he faced a max of 40 years and the courts were lenient if he gets say 15 the US will give him something like 40 to 50 with a minimum of 20 to 25 making him be 70 to 75 when he could first possibly get out
