While not exactly part of sports per se, Polymarket, who they are directly targeting does offer sports better along with a host of other betting features on worldwide events. It was only recently that the Supreme Court saved us and made Sports Better legal outside of Nevada and Native American Reservations so I do feel that this attack is something that all of us in the sports betting work should pay attention to!

Reminds me I have an ongoing election bet on a lightning network-enabled website, but I can't remember its name. The website was promoted here a few months ago. Any know which one it could be?

Make sure with some small bets they're still properly doing pay outs. Other than my bet on the US elections, I haven't bet anything there in months. In any event, back then it was a smooth experience. The one time I didn't get paid, a quick message resolved it.

Lighting login doesn’t seem to be working. I have this problem with lightning markets as well from my iPhone. I will try from my laptop in the morning. Definitely looks good.

This is kind of sickening.
Betting on who will be elected?

Like @Bell_curve pointed out politics is a nasty game in itself. Honestly why not let the people get to place bets over it? After all this isn't something that is going away this is just being highlighted right now.

I just feel it is a bit wrong to bet for or against our politicians.
Maybe I am an old soul.

I do get where you are coming from and fwiw I think we need to be careful with it. We already get enough threats at work and have incidents often enough so my concern would be people doing wild things... bad things... for the sake of a bet. College athletes have already talked about the threats they get and for politicians it would only be worse.

That is what I feel.
I didnt want to say it so explicitly.
Just imagine if someone places a large enough bet one way or another, maybe they will take matters into their own hands to win the bet?

For sure it will/would be a careful dance. I am not sure banning it though solves the issue because much like AI the cat is out of the bag now and it isn't going back in

Sports is one thing.
But betting on politics seems pretty dirty.
I cant be the only one with that opinion.

I love the betting markets, it has predicted that past several elections. I look at this as a net benefit to sniff out the truth.

which senators are trying to ban betting?
I bet it's the cunt E Warren
I was right, all the socialists want to ban betting
The letter was signed by Senators Jeff Merkley, Richard Blumenthal, Chris Van Hollen, Elizabeth Warren, Sheldon Whitehouse and Representatives Jamie Raskin, John Sarbanes and Eleanor Holmes Norton.

Reading back through the letter again I gotta say the highlighted text in that article makes it sound to me like they are almost at the point of compulsory voting. Not my fault that so many of these Members of Congress don't care about the average person or belittle those that have the other opinion.

I was surprised Sherrod Brown wasnt on the list but I guess since he is up for reelection he realized pissing off the crypto community was really backfiring on him
