The Syrian conflict, deeply rooted in the struggle for control over energy and resources, has taken a critical turn. The US, occupying parts of Syria to control oil and gas fields, now faces mounting challenges.
Recent reports indicate intensified US warplane activity over Deir Ezzor's eastern countryside, an area held by the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). Meanwhile, Syrian Arab Army-aligned tribal forces have launched an offensive, capturing several villages on the Eastern Bank.
This escalation puts the US at risk of losing control over the oil fields it occupies and extracts resources from, bringing it closer to a potential confrontation with Russia, Syria's steadfast ally.

The caveat to this whole thing in my mind is that the SDF consists of mostly Kurdish individuals. While the Kurds have been betrayed by the US so many times this time they are super well equipt and maintain I believe the two largest prisons holding ISIS members and sympathizers. Syria and Iran wouldn't want those people to be freed so while some areas can/are being attacked others are safe from those two groups essentially since they do not want to have ISIS members running around again.
Not to mention the SDF and Syria forces tend to link up whenever Turkey tries to push further into Syria because while they are ethnically different they both hate Turkey and what they are doing even more.
The considerable amount of variables is mindblowing.

Reading about it is pretty fascinating. One thing that always prevails though is that the whole geographic area throughout history has been one of conquest even predating the Abrahamic religions. Other areas in the world have had conquests, empires, and border changes but nothing along the scope of the Middle East.

If only America had oil of it's own, none of this would be necessary.

Yes. So why did God put all the nice oil and gas in the soil of the godless russians?

It looks like, yes. Nietzsche couldn't give a proper answer on this, either...

Oil must be the main reason for so many wars in the world.

Yep. We simply cannot exist without it. And it must be cheap. (At all cost)

I am joking. But if we just got out and let them take care of it, couldnt we just buy it from them? Isnt it more trouble than it is worth?
