According to a recent poll, it seems that most respondents love Italian cuisine. This was the jolt I needed to look through the photos on my phone and pick out the ones I had taken during my honeymoon to Italy a decade ago.
Yes, I have been married that long. But that’s not the point. I think the thing that struck me most about Italian food is how the ingredients often look more colourful than the finished dishes. I came to this conclusion at observing how their pasta come in all colours of the spectrum. I wouldn’t say that Italian dishes provide a visual feast. A plate of spaghetti 🍝 just comprises the pasta flavoured with tomato sauce. It took a while for me to get used to their culinary style.
One thing’s for sure, though. Italian food is really as good as they say. Which made me realise that it must be deceptively simple to use just a few ingredients but make them mash so tastily.
