From Kim Iversen

With riots and censorship, the United Kingdom is now a dystopia.

I would be interested to see how UK citizens are reacting to this. Remember the trucker protest in Canada. 70% of Canadians were cheering the tyranny by the government on.

reply

I didn't realize the truckers had such little support. That's disappointing.

reply

Oh yeah. Most Canadians clapped like trained seals when they shut down their bank accounts. "that will show those racists".

reply

Well…where exactly did that statistic come from? State media? And, I’m sure it depends on where in Canada…I bet 99% of Alberta supported them.

reply

It was some poll that came out at the time of the protests. To your point, who knows the veracity of the results and the motivation of the pollsters.

reply

Support varied by province?

Alberta supported the truckers?

reply

Definitely more support from the Praries.

my kindred spirits!

Very scary that tyrannical actions enjoy broad based popularity. COVID really woke me up to this reality.

But, looking at history, I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

reply

Yes it’s been an unfortunate state of affairs. I’m likely to continue to speak on social media platforms like Facebook and Twitter regardless however I might choose my words more carefully.
There are members of my family who think the increasing draconian policing of social media is a good thing. ☹️

reply

That's very unfortunate. I don't know what it's going to take to snap people out of this. The videos I've seen of UK cops arresting people, with a straight face, over social media posts, would have been considered outlandish parody a few years ago.
