Yes we need to do better than always arguing in absolutes. Everyone on the left is a commie and everyone on the right is a fascist according to the opposite base. 

I think we perpetrate this thinking by using the slur of communist/socialist politically.

Now, I'm fine with people saying "this idea is socialist". But people call Biden a communist. That's bullshit and doesn't help.
