Typically in this series I have been trying to focus on epic guitar within great songs rather than just virtuoso guitar playing. However, I need to to make an exception for Eric Johnson's Cliffs of Dover. It is one of my favourite instrumental guitar pieces of all time.
What I like most about Eric Johnson is he doesn't hide behind heavy distortion.

This is such an incredible guitar piece. I found it via guitar hero back in the 2000s and it's been a lock in on my playlists ever since. Phenomenal guitarist.

He's my favorite guitar player and this is my favorite song of his. His tone and crispness always stand out.
Was able to finally catch him live this year. Was epic.
