Hey SN, Founder of CyberHornet here and wanted to share a little more on our Swarm product we announced last week.
Our objective with Swarm is to bring Bitcoin to Layer 3. For us, that means total interoperability between Bitcoin L1 and L2s, secure self-custody wallet design (with the ability to recover from a lost key) and a user experience that means your Grandma can stack sats.
I'm all about building this in the open so even our first testnet release will be available for early access.
Still struggling to understand what you're building.
Is a Voltage competitor?
reply
Voltage are a semi-competitor, but we are working on our own L3 software (which we will eventually open-source) instead of using existing open-source solutions like Thunderhub etc...
One day I would love to see Swarm software available to install on your Voltage node.

Unsolicited feedback: I think calling node/wallet hosting (even with lots of bells and whistles) an L3 creates more confusion than not.
I'd prefer: "We host Bitcoin/Lighting nodes with liquid interop, and a bunch of other cool stuff"
I think L3 should be reserved for protocols that are trust-less, peer to peer, built on top of L2, and improve aspects of L2. Imagine I call SN a L3, no one would know what we actually are.

I absolutely agree. There is a roadmap to L3, but it starts with making L1 and L2s work together. There are some others in the space who have started at the protocol level with existing user experiences. We intend to solve the existing UX problem and move toward the protocol.

"that means your Grandma can stack sats" , if this happens then the future is even brighter for bitcoiners. keep building!

Thank you! We will get there, I'm sure of that.

Any chance you'll include LN over Liquid? It gives channel opening/closing with negligible fees. If you also would bring in Liquid-to-mainnet LPs (as you probably do anyway as far as I got), you could bridge two LNs.
reply
We will support both LN and Liquid! L2 to Mainnet and back is a problem we are going to tackle early and it's an area I personally think there are a lot of huge UX wins.

I meant LN on Liquid. Check this out: https://blog.blockstream.com/en-lightning-on-liquid/

This is cool! It's not something I was aware of but would be very open to it being on the roadmap

I think we will need to see more details before we can tear you apart :-P

Oh, you want THOSE details!

The UI seems nice, best of luck bro

Thank you!

I wish you the best of luck. May the best L3 infrastructure and L1-L2 interoperability project win.

I'm loving the movement in this space atm. In the end, Bitcoin wins ;)
