Yeah, constrained-creativity is a thing.
When you have unlimited freedom you might end up with analysis paralysis. You can do anything, so you do nothing.
But if you can do only three things, your brain can decide which one to do.
That's partly why they usually sell three levels of price in wines, often it is from the same winery, they do a cheap one, an expensive one, and another one in between. Most people guess the cheap one might be too bad, and the expensive one is too much, so they just grab the middle one.
