I recently watch the Pete Rose miniseries on HBO and saw a clip of Rose talking to Regan on the phone, which I have somehow never seen before.
This was during the press conference after he broke the NL career hit record.
He had some good comedic lines while waiting on hold.
I met Pete Rose at a sports collectibles shop once when I was visiting Vegas. He was selling autographs. I did not buy one but it wasn't that busy so my friend and I got a chance to shake his hand and say hello. If you paid enough he would sign a ball "Sorry I bet on baseball".
I love documentary footage from that era. You can feel the charm.
