The way I’ve seen it done is with SimpleX Chat. Some stackers put a link in their bio to connect. I’ve done the same. It is E2E encrypted, no email or phone number required, and you can spin up unlimited profiles - for instance I have one just for SN.
Someone even created a group for SN stackers to chat. Thought it is pretty quiet #433342
I will have to take a look at this post.
I know there was a chat feature at the bottom, I just have never used it.
