I actually came across it today. It was penned in the midst of the largest war in human history. I just can't get it out of my head and now vant help sharing with you guys! This is by far the shortest and the best critical review I've read.
In 1944, a children’s book club sent a book about penguins to a 10-year old girl, with a card on which she could record her opinion.
She sent it back, writing: “This book gives me more information about penguins than I care to have.”
American diplomat Hugh Gibson called it the finest piece of literary criticism he had ever read.

One of the reviews that has impacted my life has been that of Isabel Allende's The House of the Spirits, turning me into a lover of Latin American literature.
