From Wikipedia.
The interesting number paradox is a humorous paradox which arises from the attempt to classify every natural number as either "interesting" or "uninteresting". The paradox states that every natural number is interesting.[1] The "proof" is by contradiction: if there exists a non-empty set of uninteresting natural numbers, there would be a smallest uninteresting number – but the smallest uninteresting number is itself interesting because it is the smallest uninteresting number, thus producing a contradiction.
@OneOneSeven this one is for you ;)
My bathroom reading is bringing me to some strange places...
I never really considered this a paradox, though, because what is inherently paradoxical about all natural numbers being interesting? Every number is unique, after all, being the one and only product of its primes.

Yeah, i agree. It's not to be taken too seriously. It starts from one's definition of a subjective concept of interestingness.
Just a fun example of a proof by contradiction.
reply
Oh, yeah, I know it's all meant to be fun.
Another fun corollary of this Proof of Interestingness is that it can also be used to prove that every human being is interesting, because if there were any non-interesting humans, then there will be a shortest and a tallest human in the set of non-interesting humans, which makes them interesting.

Interesting and fun paradox!

Tell me which one doesn't interest you at all! Which one you can't relate with your life?
  • I've 0 regrets
  • I've 1 life.
  • I've 2 cars. (I love them)
  • I've 3 as my date of birth
  • I've 4 ......
  • I've 5 people in my life who i love the most. My parents, my brother and my sister. And of course myself.
  • I've a 6 digit income.
  • I've 7 watches! (After cars, i love them as things)
  • I've 8 written outside on the sign board beside the gate for my house.
  • I've 9 as my favourite number.
So, because,, I couldn't think of anything for 4, the paradox is over. The number that I'm least interested !!

You've got 4 letters in your nym ;)

What is more paradoxical is the lottery. Only those numbers which you personally personally selected will be interesting the rest is not.

isn't this more of a logical fallacy than a paradox?

My brain cannot compute. I see words, words, words, words, words.
