I think that's really awesome, he's earned the freedom to explore and sharpen his voice and widen his reach. Sacrificing for it up front, growing alongside chaos, to now being able to mold it into the life he wants. That's professional

yup I read that the same way, having met him and being around him and Danny, I get the sense he is a very deeply passionately creative guy and wants the next creative challenge

I guess the Bitcoin podcast space can only pull in so many eye balls and its a small market share with some competition for those views, if say Saylor goes on one pod to talk about something people are less likley to listen to the same topic on another show
Going to be interesting to see how the pivot from Bitcoin works for him, can he capture an auidence from a wider range of people and grow that revenue, i honestly feel like podcasting hit its heights during the lock downs though, could be wrong, but I don't consume nearly as much podcasts as I did in the past

You're pointing to complete outliers like they're the norm, to run a business like that you need consistant views to reach targets or why would advertisers bother to agree to any kind of long term CPM deals
concentrated views one flash in the pans doesnt' give you bargining power with advertisers they require frequency of mention

Its a sad day I think though I found I have mixed feelings on this post....
So many thoughts mixed up in my head - feeling like the old adage that "the grass isn't always greener on the other side" seems to be fitting here?
I love Pete for sure even though I never met him face to face - I fear that this change seems forced to me... I truly hope Peter isn't trying to hard to become something that he isn't and he is instead settling in to "his own skin" but alas his announcement has a couple comments that worry me.
Best of Luck to you Pete - Hope "The McCormack Show" isn't really the name of the show but hey....I am just a commoner

what part of burnt out from travel and done with bitcoin only content for 900 episodes don’t you understand..?
reply
Sorry mate - didn't mean to piss in your wheaties...
I was simply commenting about my mixed feelings over his post and the show coming to an end...
I understand the burn-out and the not-wanting to do or be focused on just one thing - I have no doubt that Pete and Danny will continue to make great content!!

😂
“grass not always greener”
“Seems forced”
“Trying something he isn’t”

This is the end of an era! I think it is a good move though. Usually the best ways to orange pill are through subtle methods, and I bet many people wouldn't even click his podcast because of the title. Heres to the new chapter!

IMO this is a prefect choice. Bitcoin shall find space in normie life, not the other way around. That's the only strategy for true adoption that is not financial.

How does the saying go....
You need Bitcoin - Bitcoin doesn't need you???
Something like that... I don't think Bitcoin shall find space in normie life...and that it is the other way around....all our normie lives are going to find a way to incorporate Bitcoin into them?
Think about it...everything our "normie lives" previously ran on...our "source code" if you will was written with a bad line as it entails how humans will exchange value with each other.... when we figure this out - some of us "reboot" and begin running with the new line and those that don't....well....let's just say it gets more and more difficult to replicate oneself when your operating system just can't "compete" with the new one.
At least that's my humble opinion...
So I am thankful that "The McCormack Show" has a thorough understanding of Bitcoin... and I am concerned that have also seen many Bitcoiner's get too big for their britches so to speak and it usually ends poorly for them. Especially when no one around them is able to get them to shift their focus... And NO I am not saying this is what has happened with Pete....just that I am concerned that it could be what is to come...only the Timechain will prove it out.

I'm a fan, but you can tell he's burned out. The last episodes haven't been interesting. It's like putting your two week notice in and then slacking off because your moving to a better job. I totally get it. Good luck Peter looking forward to what bitcoin do!
