The plebs are correct to not trust a thing that (Western) governments claim. they have in fact been lied to for decades, and better academics than this shill have written large books abourt how the US and Western governments lied about absolutely every war they have ever been in, for starters.

So it's the excat other way around. It is because nobody trusts them that they assume aliens might just be real. Add to that the fact that alien invasion sounds like a relief right about now -

This has been observed a longer while, of course; record the "Cthulhu 2016" election stickers, or "Giant Meteor 2016", making fun of the fact that the apocalypse is a relief inasfar as it seems the only thing that can destroy the calcified structures of power and domination that oppress large swaths of the planet (though of course, it is NOT the only thing that can do that - but that's a different story.)
