Video Description

In this video, I discuss Bitcoin's two unique characteristics:
  1. Bitcoin has zero counterparty risk
  2. Bitcoin has zero dilution risk
No other asset in the world has these unique characteristics, which are also enhanced by Bitcoin's immaculate conception, slow organic growth under the radar, massive head start, large market cap, and deep 24/7 liquidity.
There is no second best.
Bitcoin understood everything like no-other. I'm still marvelled at the fact that, it being the first, it's still better at everything, in every aspect. I wasn't a maxi at first, in fact I entered the crypto world by being interested in another crypto, "nano" (now "xno"), and then I went from there to others, until one day I sat down and read the bitcoin paper patiently, and everything clicked in place. Even Nostr, which stems from bitcoin, is better at web3 than all and every single one of the other shitcoin-based counterparts. Not even Ethereum got it right, it has degraded itself to a cool concept-sandbox testnet to later develop the real thing on bitcoin/nostr. Any other thing than bitcoin pow is a pyramidal scheme. Ethereum "staking" is and can only be a pyramidal scheme, the fiat-lization of crypto. The more I understood the more I became a fundamentalist bitcoin maxi.

I'm similarly impressed by how well designed Bitcoin was. It's mechanisms have been sufficient to withstand so many different trials.
It's not exactly correct to say it was first, though. It's the oldest surviving digital currency, because the developers learned from the previous attempts and very thoughtfully addressed their flaws.

Matt is the best! I would like him to talk for an hour or so about mining centralization concerns, and debunking FUD. I know efforts are being made now, but I know people are pretty concerned about this vector.

I’d enjoy that too.
One of the interesting aspects of looking through some of the “old” Stacker News posts is seeing what vulnerabilities stackers were concerned about in the recent past. So far, it seems like these things get sorted out pretty quickly.

Bitcoin has risks if you are not experienced in trading

He's specifically saying it does not have those two kinds of risks. Also, I don't see why trading experience absolves the risks that do exist.
