Short story how I found this in bullet points:
- @niftynei announced a newsletter for btc++ which can be found here
- I subscribed and a substack account was automatically created for me
- I decided to use my new substack account for "industrial espionage"
- I subscribed to @plebpoet and Edward Snowden
- I want to have read everything from @plebpoet one day
Shorter trip into my head while reading this story:
- Is that a true story in disguise? It's "oddly specific" but being oddly specific can also just mean that @plebpoet knows how to write good stories
- The event part reminded me of a similar occasion that wasn't a date, though I wished it had been
I set my eyebrows higher, opened my eyes wider
- I thought I was the only one who does that when looking in the mirror. I can have a pretty bad resting bitch face.
- For some reason, there is bad contrast at https://jkelsay.substack.com/p/bad-date unlike on https://substack.com/@jkelsay/p-69295328
- I can't describe how cool it is to have met the person that you're reading from. So cool I can't describe it.
I saw Heath as someone who was preoccupied with the reflection of himself in the world, and I try not to date that type. Yet, when we spoke seriously about something, he was unnervingly sincere. He caught on too quickly to the fact that sincerity is what gets me.
- Having mixed feelings about someone as in "I don't like this about them but I like this" makes them interesting. It's like a conflict in a story. With no conflict, there's no story. Related quotes:
I felt that I was now inside the story that had been so alive and full of emotion in the songs she had performed that night.
When I’m dating someone and it’s new and fun, I stay reserved for a reason. It’s happened a couple of times before with a couple people I’ve gone out with: he will begin to share something emotional, and I will have to decide if it is worth the risk to care, which forces the relationship to its defining moment. Consequently, it stops being fun; it starts getting messy.
Shortest explanation why I am posting this:
hahah I just posted something new to Substack today because I saw that you followed me over there. I haven't posted there in maybe two years. lol
Thanks for kind words and thanks for being my reader! That will come in handy when I get my next book down, I'll have your feedback to collect.
Also the inspiration for this story was a dream, the shirt was the only concrete part that came out of the dream and into the story.
oh yeah this is a good story for @Fabs haha
Cool! Did you write it today or is it from your private collection?
mhh, received no email about it though, maybe it comes later 🤔
You do! I still need to write my review for your first book (and that other thing) though 👀
it will happen soon, I can feel it in my fingers
You mean you wrote all of this just based on a shirt in a dream? That's impressive but I guess it's simply what good writers do: being able to describe situations as if they experienced them themselves. Anyway, you're really talented, I hope you know that!
I'm not fully sure what to make of this right now, but I'll have a second look once I'm back from THE GYM.😶🌫️☺️
This was a good story, and now I know that @plebpoet has a newsletter (or possibly have been reminded that she does). My stack of subscriptions I plan to get around to reading continues to grow.
Heath is suave.
Also @plebpoet writes nice in first person.
What does 'suave' mean? In Portuguese it means 'soft'.
Usually a mix of "confident," "charming," and "sophisticated".
refined

Taking notes...
that is nice, thanks a bunch. I was on a big short story writing kick for a while, but have fallen out of that particular fashion. It's really too bad.
Damn! I knew @plebpoet could write, but... damn this is good.
Is it just me, or is there a chemistry going on with @plebpoet? 🤠
I wouldn't be surprised, she's very beautiful and smart!
aw you are kind to me, thx

0xbitcoiner seeing some chemistry going on
for sincerity reasons, this was my original comment:
no regrets when we're honest 👊

multiple anons detected, lol
How do you know?
She's appeared on SN Live, so unlike most folks behind nyms here, @0xbitcoiner (and all of us) can all know what she looks like (on top of intelligence, which we can gather from posts).
this!
Well, now I'm curious, lead the way!
I know because I've read a lot of her writing and she's appeared on SNL.
@plebpoet Is she still going to fuck him after that? What's the end all about?
Also, I wouldn't plan such a lame date in the first place, but if you're willing to fly over, I might be willing to show you what I am all about. 😉😸
good question, so it's open ended there at the end, but I think no, she doesn't fuck him. This ending should demonstrate that no one has perfect judgement and everyone is lonely.
Yeah, thought this story could give a sense of what not to do lol
Not a bad line! you showed up with confidence in the comments, points for that. In answer, I'll disclose I am not single, and @ek knows this tsk tsk
Hm, good. It would've shook my little word real bad if she still would've "done-the-deed" with him after that.
Hm, I mean, it's not like we can't make an itsy-bitsy little change to that... 🤭
(See Ek, she didn't find it cringy 🌝)
oof, cringe 👀🙈
stacker news is one giant telenovela
where my popcorns at? lol
I'd show you too, you know, but through the lense of being man-homies, of course... 🤭
lmao
🤭
And ohh @ek'kie! It's lovely to see that you think about me! 🥰😁
how could I not
Oh shit man
