I think it's actually a fair question since I was confused now, too.

We do have a [fixed percentage per rank](https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/blob/8c56904094e5045236001f53fc8df94063324c30/lib/madness.js) that we use for rewards. However, since [a non-fixed percentage of your rewards go to referrers](https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/blob/8c56904094e5045236001f53fc8df94063324c30/worker/earn.js#L92), your total percentage of rewards with the same rank change.

Does this make sense?
