NFC west division games are usually pretty bloody. I think it’ll be tight. 9ers definitely have an edge in the division with Brock’s contract. That advantage will go away tho if he keeps his play up and is paid as a top 5 QB salary
They can probably keep the window open a couple more years. They should be able to back load most of the cap hit on a new brock deal. I think in Hurts first couple years cap hits were 6M and 12M. That is very manageable for them while they wait for guys like Kittle and Williams and Deebo to come off the books. They are going to have to draft well and they likely won’t be able to keep all the FAs from this year.

I would rather he takes the time off needed than try to play through and it is nagging all year or he gets seriously injured and has to miss key games late in the season or the playoffs. I am sure this is what they are thinking as well.
