The oldest known condom was found in the tomb of the Egyptian Pharaoh Tutankhamun. It was made 3,500 years ago and is on display in the Cairo Museum. However, it is not clear whether its function was to prevent pregnancy. There is no evidence that the Egyptians tried to contain births.
