oh no.. it paints twitter as "free" in the Arab Spring, and then notes it was "repurposed as tools of tyranny and censorship" AFTER.
My sweet summer child, the Arab Spring (and other color revolutions) were US regime change missions. Twitter was already being used as an imperialist tool by the US government at that time. It just seemed like a "tool for freedom" because it was used against governments (that were a thorn in the side of the US, however).
