It's possible, but you probably have to make allowances for the other members of your family not being perfectly aligned with your attitude. Women have broader tastes in men than the reverse, so there's likely someone out there who will not be turned off by your minimalism. 

Btw, calling it "minimalism" will probably serve you better than "poor". :)

I follow voluntary poverty as a way of life to some extent- wife does not particularly like it- she would prefer a new car than our vintage model toyota and likes shopping more than I do...but we compromise and both enjoy gardening and growing our own food.

I always had this interior idea of simplicity and doing more with less, some say it's thinking like poor. I've worked in the stock market and hate it, then I tried other fiat jobs and started to get disgusted by all the high time preference around it and all the fake stuff. I have this life style to using mostly bike and trains to move around, travel to small city and towns. It's a very different life style from the people I grow up with that they may see me as a loser and a person with a lack of ambition, I see it more like living an urban monk life style, still I would like to find a wife and have kids, is it possible to achieve without being a fiat slave in the rat race?
