Short background info: Over at the above post, I had mentioned Mr. Beast came with some unsavory kinds of behavior that went along with his advice. I got some snarky kinds of replies from the OP about how I was presenting myself like I "knew better". Well, I generally don't do the "I told you so" but in this instance there is a bigger message going on than the interaction with the post between us:
The above article makes it clear that Mr. Beast and "Beast Games" were using the above film guidelines to create a kind of human "slavery" for contestants so that they were deemed "Volunteers" with the immediate benefit being some manner of tax break. The suit extends to Amazon, which, as you might recall, denies that I exist as an author. The picture is beginning to become clearer to me as to why they might do that.
OP in the other thread said Mr. Beast was operating at the top of the game, and I mentioned that that isn't necessarily a good trait to have. If the claims in this article are true and the people were just a means for Mr. Beast to climb a ladder, then I'd say his guidelines are worthless since what might have been being rewarded was his antipathy toward human life and its requirements. (A humiliation ritual videoed for everyone else to watch) This would make Mr. Beast just one big, sick game, and the viewers willing participants.
