Detachment from outcome
This is so important! While in a deprogramming mode I learned to shift any energy or thoughts from expectation to intention.
This! We love scheming and trying to control our little worlds and then end up devastated when life comes at you fast
💯 people these days like to talk about manifestation but most are unable to detach from outcome and it's absolutely key.
Saying no, it's very difficult. Specially for Indians
Specially for Indians? How?
Because we are taught this since childhood. Never say no to elders. Whatever he says should be followed.
Is it remnants of opression by the Brits over centuries or a totally "internal" cultural thing?
I worked with a bunch of people from India in a corporate setting. But even though we were all peers, the Indians always behaved subserviently, never pushing back when it it was needed (even if they had the expertise). This made me very angry, because it lead to many stupid mistakes because someone didn't speak up in time.
I kept quiet because I feared it would come accross as racist but sometimes I felt like screaming "stop behaving like you're still slaves of the white man".
I agree
LMAO!! Or else we got beat
For me its remembering dates. I'm the most diligent while remembering until one or two days before any occasion but on the day I forget.
Nowadays, you can set reminders for this in your mobile.
I've picked the right one which is saying no..
Delaying gratification. Or saying no to self.
Bitcoin teaches this well.
Yeah, the whole world needs to get better at this.
Speaking another language
Body language / non-verbal communications 💯
Communication is huge.
Power napping lol that’s my super power
Remembering names
I very much agree. I take a moment to attempt to commit a person's name to memory when meeting them for the first time, and then using that person's name later in the conversation. This seems to be very important for interpersonal communications but is so rarely done. Most people ask "what's your name again?" which is precisely how I commit the person's name to my memory. I ask that question and answer it in my mind after I hear their name.
I have struggled with this one in the past. I am getting better. very important.
You are right. But what about problem solving?
Funny complaints is what a treasure full of underrated skill.
Empathy
I empathize.
One of the greatest skills for society, for sure.
Cooking. I freekin love cooking! Better than I love coding HTML. LOL! I find it to be a rather meditative practice. Away from the binary, where failure can sometimes be a success. I am so happy I took foods in high school. Where I learned “mise en place” a French culinary phrase for gathering your ingredients and setting up before the cooking. You use a lot of containers for stuff, but it has made the cooking process so much more linear and smoother.
Thank God for my wife.
Cooking. It's the only way to be truly healthy and everything else in life flows from good health.
The first thing that came to mind was getting along with others or ability to work with others.
Be ruthless with time
You should add "communication" we are losing it over the years :-)
We can create Maximum 10 options. Many more are still pending. So last option is for those.
critical thinking
Agree
I wish this was taught in schools.
me too. school didn't help me, but getting into philosophy did. especially the stoics. like bitcoin, i feel like it's a personal journey for each of us.
Know thyself
Is there any greater path to walk?
Not for me. It is scary at times but the gifts that come are ......
I'd like to push it a step further, love thyself. We all know ourselves but the struggle comes with accepting and loving ourselves.
Most are completely consumed with the exterior devoid of innerstanding.
I haven't had the pleasure, but I'm always reminded that others enjoy the bliss of ignorance. Regardless, the work truly begins with loving yourself.
What are we loving? And what is love? Only when we cast light in our shadows, and find our true self, can we fully love inside or outward.
The path of Knowing thyself is loving thyself. I would disagree with "we all know ourselves"
Although it may sound vulgar and rude, the most underrated skill is prostitution... something that if we think about it, everyone who asks would say "It's easy"... but at some point have you stopped to think about the disgust... displeasure... humiliation... and several terms that would be valid for a job where everyone sees you as an object with a price... that you can touch as you want! regardless of what that human being feels!! many of them exploited by criminal mafias as is the case in South America... people who feel and that the majority did not choose to be there with that job and in that place of the night... If you ask me a skill that nobody considers...
I was thinking "Saying no", but went with "relaxing". We live in the most materially abundant time in history, and yet many people act as though they're teetering on the abyss.
Relax and enjoy your life a little bit.
I agree . But what about problem solving?
I don't think it's as underrated as some of the others.
Rest is absolutely key to healing. On a day to day basis and bigger picture. I had to rest for 3 years after escaping the race.
It's hard to say "No."
Saying no. By far.
Humor.. making people laugh.
👍
Creativity (Imagination, like having vision of something that does not exist yet)
Definitely rare one.
The ability to detect and navigate around bullshit in all its forms.
Good one
Most people can't problem solve their way out of a cardboard box, they get frustrated and decide to stay inside.
Other: setting goals
Great answer.
Travelling on a whim
Ahhh. Freedom
Enjoying live, the present moment.
